Ugly Sweaters for the Holiday Haughties
On December 10th 2011 we performed at a Holiday party hosted by Octopus-Entertainment at the famous Jimmy Mak’s Downtown Portland!
The Evening was a blast. We shared the stage with 3 other bands, Brothers Young, The Horde & The Harem and Tango Alpha Tango! The audience was probably the ugliest we had ever seen simply because of the holiday sweaters…Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with us on this fun evening.
We had a excellent time and hope to squeeze one or two more shows in before the end of Twenty Eleven. If not, we will see ya Early 2012. Happy Holidays!!
p.s. yes, we know the snowflakes on the home screen are cheesy… that’s why we like em ;)
Just a little diddy
Here’s our Single “Close” dubbed over to our live performance. Just some fun with iMovie. Thank you Apple.
“i aint afraid of no ghost you psycho killer”

Alva. A Time for Movin’ On…
Hello Friends,
Alva here.
Since 2008 I have been ticklin’ the bass guitar for Violet Isle. Sadly, the day has come were I have to part ways with the boys and gal and pursue some new adventures. I have enjoyed this journey and have learned a lot. Music has always been a passion of mine and will continue to be. However, I feel it is time to say “adios”. I do ask that you love and support the next bassist just as much as you have loved and supported me; your encouragement has meant everything. I definitely expect to still see great music come out of the VI camp, so don’t go ANYWHERE! Best wishes Violet Isle.
Your Friend,
Alva Valencia
The news from Alva may come as a shock for some of you but it was a decision that was not easy for both Alva and Violet Isle over the past months. Over much discussion and deliberation we found ourselves at a mutual standpoint. Alva has been a crucial part of the Violet Isle experience and an original member from the very beginning. He will be very missed by US and our fans/friends. We ALL wish him much success and happiness in the future. Alva will continue to do some pretty amazing things and projects as we have seen in the past and will be sure to keep you posted on them. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication over the last 3 years Alva, it has meant a lot!
What does this mean for Violet Isle? We will continue to do the thing that we have always done…Rock out and have fun! We will be on the hunt for a permanent bassist in the mean-time. Currently Zee Farrouge will be filling in and helpin’ us out with those creamy bass licks so we would love for you to come out and show some support!
We will have some exciting news to share soon as well…stay tuned ;)

Homecoming to Bridgefest
Hello Friends,
We’ve made it home safely from the road! Being back is bittersweet, playing in different towns every day and experiencing all of the wonderful people and venues in those towns was amazing, but it is also wonderful to be back in Portland and be around all of our families and friends. Our show at Backspace on July 22nd was great! Thanks to everyone who came and to Symmetry/Symmetry and Ben Union for rocking the stage with us!
Looking forward, we’re very excited to be playing the closing party of the PDX Bridgefest this year on August 7th with a bunch of super talented bands; the aforementioned Symmetry/Symmetry, Tango Alpha Tango, The Hague, The Dimes, and Water and Bodies just to name a few. The bands will be split up between the stages in the Crystal Ballroom and Lola’s Room, hope you can all come out and enjoy some bouncy floors with us!
